A new DC trailer has been released ahead of Super Bowl LVI, showing footage of The Flash, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, The Batman, and Black Adam. Warner Bros. had a slow superhero year in 2021, only introducing James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, which also released simultaneously on HBO Max. In 2022, however, he’s ramping up his blockbuster output with five highly anticipated movies on the docket.
DC will kick off 2022 with the highly anticipated The Batman, which hits theaters on March 4. Directed by Matt Reeves, it will feature Robert Pattinson as the next Caped Crusader after Ben Affleck departed the franchise. It is followed by the animated movie, DC’s League of Super-Pets, on May 20. From there, three DCEU movies will hit theaters. Dwayne Johnson’s long-delayed Black Adam will see the debut of Justice Society of America, Ezra Miller’s The Flash will also bring back Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck’s versions of Batman, and Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom close out the year. DC fans have a lot to get excited about, and for those who couldn’t wait any longer for these projects, a new trailer has been released giving you fresh footage of these blockbusters.

As Johnson promised, a new promotional clip from DC was shared to get audiences excited about what Warner Bros. has in store for their comic book movie fans. Look the following video:
Other than The Batman, all of these live action movies exist in the DCEU. After Affleck left the franchise, Reeves decided to reboot the character and introduce a younger version of the Caped Crusader. Despite that, there’s still a good chance Pattinson’s Dark Knight will interact with characters from the main Warner Bros./DC franchise thanks to his burgeoning multiverse. The Flash actually digs deeper into this idea, as Keaton’s Batman mentions in the trailer, Barry Allen is choosing a specific timeline to save, meaning several more exist within the multiverse. Both Black Adam and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom may not have anything to do with this new concept, but their respective stories are interesting on their own. Looking at the big picture, Warner Bros. has a diverse selection of movies for its viewers in 2022 with The Flash, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, The Batman, and Black Adam. This is its biggest advantage over Marvel Studios, as all three MCU movies are sequels. With more variations in its offerings, DC can appeal to a larger audience. That aside, the fact that they’re bringing Keaton back as Batman may appeal to older fans of the Dark Knight who haven’t been privy to the DCEU. PLUS: Who Will Win The Marvel Vs DC 2022 Movie Battle?
